As an important organic synthesis intermediate,  2-Ethylanthraquinone (2-EAQ) is widely used in the manufacturing of hydrogen peroxide, vat dyes, disperse dyes and reactive dyes, etc. At present, large-scale hydrogen peroxide manufacturers at home and abroad use the anthraquinone method to produce hydrogen peroxide. Thus, the output and quality of 2-Ethylanthraquinone greatly affect the development of hydrogen peroxide production and related industries.   
 

2-Amylanthraquinone is an upgraded auxiliary for the production of hydrogen peroxide, which can greatly improve production efficiency. As early as the 1990s, 2-Amylanthraquinone was used abroad to produce high-concentration and high-quality hydrogen peroxide. Due to restrictions on the supply of 2-Amylanthraquinone and its application technology, its production in China has been stuck in the 2-Ethylanthraquinone method, which can only produce low-content and high-energy-consuming hydrogen peroxide. However, the solubility of 2-Ethylanthraquinone is too low, and it is easy to precipitate in the pipeline and affect normal production. Due to extreme high efficiency of hydrogenation, 2-Ethylanthraquinone method will easily increase the degree of anthraquinone degradation and then increase the consumption of raw materials. Compared with 2-Ethylanthraquinone, 2-Amylanthraquinone has the advantages such as high solubility and low degradation under high hydrogenation efficiency. Therefore, 2-Amylanthraquinone is used in the working fluid to greatly improve the hydrogenation efficiency of the working fluid and thereby increases the unit productivity ( can improve 50%-100% depending on the unit conditions) and device safety, and reduce the consumption of energy; And at the same time, the quality of the hydrogen peroxide produced by this method can reach the standards of electronic grade.
 

With the large demand for caprolactam and propylene oxide (both of which require high-concentration hydrogen peroxide using the amylanthraquinone method), related technologies have successfully been developed in China and applied for the production of the hydrogen peroxide in 2-Amylanthraquinone method.
